What is Super Countdown? Its main function is to allow you to input a period of time and it will count down for you, alerting you when it's done. While it is counting down you get a nice on-screen display showing you how much time is remaining.
Why? My friend, Yusuke Kurihara, gave me the idea a few weeks ago after he saw a commercial for the movie Independence Day. He wanted a nice big on-screen timer to use when he was trying to figure out when the aliens were going to get to Earth. So, here it is.
How does it work? As long as you know how to use the mouse you can figure this one out. Just go up to the Timer menu and select the first option, Set Timer. This will present you with a dialog box where you use pop-up menus to select the hours, minutes, and seconds that you want. Hit OK to set the time. Then go back up to the Timer menu and hit Start Timer to get things going. If you wish, you can stop the timer at any time or turn off the sound.

NOTE ON ACCURACY: Super Countdown is extrememly accurate if it is running in the foreground and you are not using your computer for anything else while it is running. However, I have found that under some circumstances while Super Countdown is running in the background it can start skipping tenths of seconds or hundredths of seconds, and over a long period of time those can add up. If you need accuracy, run it in the foreground and don't touch your computer. If you need a general idea of when a period of time is up, Super Countdown will multi-task wonderfully, although not exactly accuratly.
